Our mission is to make classical music approachable and joyful — bringing exceptional musicians and audiences together in Daejeon, a city with its own vibrant cultural spirit. Through Jasmine Choi’s role as Daejeon’s cultural ambassador, the festival creates a meeting place where music, friendship and the city come together.
Our story
Exceptional musicians and curious listeners meet in Daejeon. Jasmine Festival is an annual gathering for everyone, from first-time concertgoers to lifelong lovers of classical music.
Founded by Jasmine Choi, the festival welcomed its first audiences in 2025 as The Heredium Concert Series: Jasmine & Friends, Season 1: Hanbit. It continues today as Jasmine Festival, carrying the same artistic vision under a new independent identity. The 2026 festival is its second edition.

Flutist Jasmine Choi is the Founder & Artistic Director of Jasmine Festival, a cultural ambassador for Daejeon, and Professor of Practice in Flute at Indiana University’s Jacobs School of Music. Through the festival, she brings musicians and audiences together to share the beauty and joy of classical music.

Where it all began.
2025 Hanbit
Our first gathering began with Hanbit. The inaugural 2025 edition featured Jasmine Choi, Julien Quentin and the Schumann String Quartet. Originally presented as part of the Heredium Concert Series, it became the first chapter of today’s Jasmine Festival.
